O. Yu. Shmidt Institute of the Physics of the Earth of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IPE RAS) realizes the wide scope of the fundamental and applied investigation on the study of physical processes in the Earth’s interior, planetary and experimental geophysics, seismology. In IFZ RAS are developing the models of the dynamics and inner structure of the Earth, physical and mathematical modeling of the geodynamic processes, the study of the Earth’s seismicity and physics of earthquake sources, seismic zoning, geoelectrical investigation, theoretical and computer technologies for interpretation of the geophysical data, elaboration of the methods of geophysical monitoring for the prediction of the natural and technogenic catastrophes.
