FinancingThe beginning of scientific research experimental designing work until 2007, the development was carried out at the expense of personal financing. Short descriptionMain features of drip and subsoil irrigation, conditions, and prospective of its usage are analyzed. Technique and technology of subsoil irrigation are examined in detail, parameters for systems of subsoil irrigation are substantiated, and methods to calculate irrigating rates under drip irrigation are designed. The results of long term experimental work relating to cultivation of different commercial crop under drip and subsoil irrigation are summarized by authors of the research. Consideration of irrigating regimes, evapotranspiration, specific water consumption to obtain a unit of production, bioclimatic ratios, root system formation, development of photosynthetic activity in relation to water, nutrient regimes of soil change and levels of planned harvests is presented. Evaluation of general and individual cultivated crop productivity, quality indicators of harvest, and also agroenergetic productivity of used methods and technology are given. Implementation of recommended technology of subsoil and drip irrigation of apple orchard, oriented to obtain 17 to 20 ton apples per hectare is economically profitable. Economic effect of subsoil irrigation, providing hold up of soil humidity at 70 % of lowest water holding capacity, is 68 000 rubles with income index of 2.10. Scientific significanceOn the given subject two candidates’ and one doctors’ theses were defended, two monographs were written, more than 200 works in scientific journals, conference materials were published. The Gold Medal was obtained in 2008 for the monograph “technique and technology of cultivation of commercial crop under drip and subsoil irrigation” at 10th anniversary Agricultural exhibition “Golden Autumn — 2008” in the nomination “For innovative working outs in the field of agricultural science”.
