The company specializes in the production of nanopowders of metals, alloys and some chemical compounds (metal oxides and nitrides). The company both manufactures and distributes its products. APT has its own production facilities appointed with manufacturing equipment. This enables to carry out the whole production cycle – from raw material preparation to finished product packaging in compliance with IATA regulations for hazardous goods. The annual output of nanopowders is over 1,000 kg. In 2000 and 2002, R&D Magazine included the nanopowders manufactured by APT in the list of top 100 innovation products available in the US market. Nanopowders are manufactured under Specification #1791-003-36280340-2008 and have Quality Certificates and Material Safety Certificates provided under EC Directive 91/155. Today we aim to satisfy the growing demand of our clients and expand the market having a technical capability to increase the range and output of our products to meet your specific needs. One of the major areas of nanotechnology is the production and application of nanoparticles (nanopowders). Research community defines nanopowders as objectswith geometric size at least in one dimension below 100 nm (10-7 m) and fundamentally new performance characteristics. Experts believe that the use of nanopowders will enable to considerably improve the parameters of existing processes and develop new technologies. Application of nanopowders such as additives can significantly improve the quality of many products: medicines, lubricants, fuels, polymers, filters, getters, oil additives, coloring and magnetic pigments, components of low-temperature high-strength solders, etc. Advanced Powder Technologies LLC manufactures nanopowders by the electric explosion of wire (EEW) method. This method is of particular interest for the production of powders of high-activity metals. Some research shows that extreme conditions of EEW nanoparticle formation (high temperature and high process rate) enable to form a nonequilibrium disperse-phase structure.
